Brogan Latil is a lecturer in Media Studies at the University of Amsterdam. His work follows his immediate interests within the domains of new media, cultural studies, and critical theory. Most often he writes about ideology and technology, speech and epistemic power on platforms, online subcultures, Californian technocultures, and new media histories.

This site functions as an archive for older, less ‘mature’ work as well as a repository for newer pieces that fall outside of more ‘formal’ genres.

“The Spirit of Technology” refers to the substance that gives unnatural objects their power, their politics, and their mask of neutrality. Everything we know is quietly humming on and brimming with Ideology.
